The Traffic Report website aims to spread information about traffic incidents on the UK's motorway and dual carriageway network in a matter that it easy to follow, in order to allow drivers to make travel decisions before running into any problems.
Data is downloaded from the UK Highways Agency website every five minutes and stored in a local database where it can then br added to a Google Map giving a snapshot of the UK's roads. Information is available for individual roads and the busier ones have their own Twitter accounts, which drivers can follow on the latest generation of smartphones in order to be informed while on the move.
The site still needs some work in terms of Search Engine Optimisation and promotions, but the basics are in place and the site is stable and functioning well.
